Changji college is located in Changji City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which is a district college. The predecessor of the school is Changji normal school, which was established in 1959 and upgraded to Changji college in May 2001. The university has established a long-term counterpart support relationship with Shandong University, Shaanxi Normal University, Jilin University, Xiamen University, Beijing Forestry University, Lanzhou University and China University of Petroleum (East China), and has jointly trained undergraduates and postgraduates with Shandong University, Shaanxi Normal University and Xiamen University.According to the official website of the University in January 2020, the university has two campuses, covering an area of 1101 mu, with 15 secondary teaching units, a total of 40 undergraduate majors and 33 junior college majors, covering eight disciplines of law, education, literature, science, engineering, economics, management and art. There are 2 professional master's degree authorized fields; the college has a total of 1026 staff, including 713 full-time teachers; the college has 18991 full-time students, including 14180 undergraduates, 4764 junior college students and 47 graduate students; 63% of them are ethnic minority students.
