Tianshui Normal University, located in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, is a provincial regular undergraduate college and one of the first batch of pilot colleges for transformation and development of Applied Technology Universities in Gansu Province.In 2000, the university upgraded from Tianshui Normal College to Tianshui Normal College and began to recruit undergraduates. In May 2007, it passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education. In October 2011, it was listed by the Ministry of education as the construction unit of the pilot work of Cultivating Master of education professional degree postgraduates. In 2013, it began to recruit students to cultivate master of education. In 2015, it was listed as the first batch of Pilot Universities in Gansu Province. In 2018, it was approved as a master's degree awarding unit.As of March 2018, the University covers an area of 670 mu; it has set up 17 secondary colleges and 54 undergraduate specialties; 2 national characteristic specialties and 9 provincial characteristic specialties; 1 professional degree authorization point for master of education; 2 first-class Characteristic Cultivation disciplines in Gansu Province; 2 provincial key construction disciplines; nearly 900 Teaching staff; and more than 16500 students.
