Dali University, located in Dali, Yunnan Province, has been selected as a pilot University of the Ministry of education's "excellent doctor education and training program". It is a comprehensive undergraduate school with the advantages of medicine, pharmacy, pedagogy and biology, the characteristics of Ethnology and art, the interdisciplinary integration and multi-level coordinated development.Its predecessor is Dali Medical College and Dali teachers college established in 1978. In October 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Dali Medical College and Dali Teachers College were merged to form Dali College. Dali polytechnic school and Dali branch of Yunnan Radio and TV University were merged into Dali College. On April 29, 2015, the University officially changed its name to Dali University.As of June 2016, the school has two campuses, Gucheng and Xiaguan, covering an area of more than 2300 mu, with a building area of 550000 square meters. The school has more than 17000 full-time students and more than 21000 continuing education students. There are 1012 full-time teachers, including 462 with deputy senior title or above, more than 130 professors, and more than 700 with master's degree or above.
