Tongren Vocational and technical college, approved by Guizhou Provincial People's Government in June 2002, is a provincial public full-time college, jointly built by the State Ethnic Affairs Committee and Guizhou Provincial People's government.The history of running the school can be traced back to the Ministry of agriculture and vocational education of Jiangkou branch of national No.3 middle school founded by the national government in 1938 during the Anti Japanese war. In 2002, Tongren agricultural school, health school, finance school, business school and senior vocational school were merged and established, and upgraded to a college level ordinary college. On December 16, 2015, it became a University jointly built by the State Commission for democracy and the people's Government of Guizhou Province. In August 2017, the college was selected as the second batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China.As of February 2016, the school's new campus covers an area of 1160 mu, with 13 secondary schools and 50 Higher Vocational Specialties; there are 802 teaching staff, 41 teachers with senior professional titles, 154 teachers with deputy senior professional titles, and more than 30000 full-time students.
