Guizhou Institute of technology, located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is a provincial university of science and technology approved by the Ministry of education and a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.The University was founded in 2013. In 2011, Guizhou Province proposed to implement the strategy of "strengthening the province through industry", and planned to build Guizhou Institute of technology on the site of caijiaguan campus of Guizhou University. On December 17, 2012, the indicators of Guizhou Institute of technology reached the national standards for the establishment of undergraduate colleges and universities, and passed the inspection and evaluation of the expert group of the National Evaluation Committee on the establishment of colleges and universities. On April 18, 2013, the Ministry of Education officially approved the establishment of Guizhou Institute of technology. In January 2017, it became one of the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. In 2018, it became one of the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan 2.0" and "new engineering research and practice project" selected into the universities.As of March 2017, the school has a land area of 866.7 mu, a school building area of 274000 square meters, a total value of 99.3306 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment, 688824 books, 15 data and literature resources, 47 practice and training bases inside and outside the school, and 2 indoor stadiums. There are 749 teaching staff and 11505 full-time undergraduate students. There are 16 colleges, 3 basic teaching departments and 24 undergraduate majors.
