Guizhou Normal University, referred to as "Guizhou Normal University", is located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It is a provincial key university jointly built by the Ministry of education and Guizhou Province. It has been selected into the national "111 plan", the basic ability construction project of universities in central and Western China, and the excellent teacher training plan.The University was founded in 1941, formerly known as "national Guiyang Normal University"; in 1950, it was renamed "Guiyang Normal University"; in 1956, the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China formally handed it over to the Guizhou Provincial People's government for management; in 1958, the Guizhou provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish a new "Guizhou University" in the form of joint education in Guiyang Normal University; in 1959, Guizhou University was separated from the University; in 1959, Guizhou University was separated from the University; in 1956, Guizhou provincial Party committee decided to establish a new "Guizhou University" in the In 1985, it was renamed "Guizhou Normal University"; in 1996, it was identified as a provincial key university by Guizhou Provincial People's government; in 2004, the former Guizhou Polytechnic College was merged; in 2006, it was again identified as a provincial key university by Guizhou Provincial People's government.As of March 2019, the university has three campuses in Yunyan District, Baiyun District (Qiushi College) and Huaxi District, covering an area of nearly 2800 mu; there are 38000 students and 2572 in-service staff; there are 24 colleges with 81 undergraduate majors; there are 6 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points and 22 first-class discipline master degree authorization points.
