China West Normal University (hereinafter referred to as "Xihua Normal University") is a full-time Provincial Key Normal University organized by the people's Government of Sichuan Province. It is located in Nanchong, a famous historical and cultural city in Sichuan Province. It is the first normal university in Sichuan Province and the first batch of bachelor's and master's degree authorized units in China. In 1937, the Anti Japanese war broke out in an all-round way, and Northeast University moved to Santai County, Sichuan Province; in 1945, Northeast University moved back to Shenyang. In May 1946, with the support of ten salt farms in 36 counties of northern Sichuan and people of insight from all walks of life, some Sichuan Teachers and students of Northeastern University established private northern Sichuan Institute of agriculture and technology at the original site of Santai. In 2003, it was renamed as Xihua Normal University with the approval of the Ministry of education.As of March 2020, the school has two campuses, Beihu and Huafeng, covering an area of more than 3000 mu, with more than 3 million paper books and 4 million e-books. There are 78 undergraduate majors, 18 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, and more than 100 second-class master's degree programs. Eight disciplines jointly train doctoral students. There are more than 2500 teaching staff, and more than 30000 full-time undergraduate, master's and international students.
