Haikou University of Economics (Haikou University of Economics), referred to as "Haijing", is a multi-disciplinary full-time regular undergraduate college with economy and management majors as the main subjects, arts, science, engineering and art as the co-existence. It is the first private undergraduate college set up independently in Hainan Province.Founded in 1974, Haikou Vocational University and Haikou vocational and Technical College of economics have gone through the development stages. In 2004, it was recognized by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of construction as a pilot University for the cultivation of national construction skilled talents. In March 2008, it was upgraded to an undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of education. In May 2012, it passed the evaluation of the right to grant bachelor's degree and became a bachelor's degree awarding unit.As of March 2020, the school covers an area of 1800 mu, with a construction area of more than 1.2 million square meters. It has 17 secondary colleges, 47 undergraduate majors and 19 junior majors. It has 877 full-time teachers and more than 22000 full-time students, including more than 15000 undergraduates.
