Hainan Medical University (Hainan Medical University) is located in Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province. It is one of the first batch of national excellent doctor education and training program pilot universities, the first batch of professional comprehensive reform pilot undergraduate universities and the first batch of education informatization pilot units.The predecessor of the school is private Haiqiang advanced medical technology school founded by Mr. Lin Xiaohai in 1947 and served as the first president, and the Medical College of Hainan University founded by Mr. Song Ziwen as the first chairman in 1948. The two schools were merged into Hainan Medical School in 1951 (Trial undergraduate education from 1977 to 1979), later renamed Hainan Medical College, and merged into Hainan University in 1983 to become Haiqiang medical college Department of medicine, Southern University. In 1993, Hainan Medical College was officially established with the approval of the state administrative department of education, under the charge of the people's Government of Hainan Province. In 2003, it was identified as the joint training unit of master's degree by the Ministry of education. In 2013, it was approved as the authorized unit of master's degree, and in 2019, it was approved as the authorized unit of doctor's degree.As of January 2020, the college covers a total area of 1492.76 mu; it has 18 secondary departments and 27 undergraduate majors; it has 1 postdoctoral research mobile station, 1 first-class discipline doctoral program, 5 first-class discipline master programs, 5 professional degree master programs; 2 national characteristic majors, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center; 1095 full-time teachers and 12827 full-time students.
