Hezhou University, located in Hezhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is a public full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of education.The predecessor of Hezhou University was Guangxi Pingle normal school founded in 1943. In May 1957, it was renamed Hexian normal school. In July 1983, it was renamed Wuzhou teachers training college. In March 1988, it was renamed Wuzhou District Education College. In 1994, Wuzhou teachers college was founded. In February 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Wuzhou teachers college was upgraded to Hezhou University.As of March 2017, the school has two campuses, East and West, covering an area of more than 1400 mu, with a building area of about 360000 square meters, a total value of teaching equipment of more than 169 million yuan, a collection of more than 1 million paper books, and an academic journal of Journal of Hezhou University. There are 934 in-service staff, 672 full-time teachers, 13746 full-time students, including 11696 undergraduates, 1918 junior college students and 28 international students, and 16 graduate students jointly trained with Dalian University of technology. It has 16 departments, 2 colleges of education, 41 undergraduate majors and professional directions, and 14 junior majors.
