It is a university approved by the Ministry of education with the qualification of recommending excellent fresh undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree without examination.The predecessor of the school is the "art teacher training class of Guangxi provincial capital national basic school" initiated by the famous musician man QIANZI, modern outstanding painter and art educator Xu Beihong, and the famous composer and music educator Wu Bochao in Guilin in 1938. In January 1946, the "art teacher training class of Guangxi provincial capital national basic school" and the "private Guilin rongmen school" were established In 1958, Guangxi Academy of art was rebuilt in Nanning.
