Jishou University The university is located in Jishou City and Zhangjiajie City. It is a first-class discipline construction university in Hunan Province. It has the qualification of "recommending excellent fresh undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree without examination". It has been selected into the national "Midwest university basic ability construction project", "excellent doctor education and training plan" and "excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan" ”It is a University jointly built by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Hunan Provincial People's government. It is also a counterpart support school of Sun Yat sen University, Tsinghua University and Central South University.Jishou University was founded in April 1958, and was upgraded to a provincial comprehensive university in 1978. In the same year, Xiangxi branch of Xiangya Medical College of Central South University was merged into Jishou University to form a medical department, Xiangxi branch of Xiangtan University was merged into Jishou University to form a physical education department, Jishou health school was merged into Jishou University in 2000, and Xiangxi College of ethnic education and Jishou Normal University for nationalities were merged into Jishou University Group in 2001 In 2002, Wuling college was merged into Jishou University and became Zhangjiajie campus of Jishou University.The school covers a total area of more than 2900 mu, with a construction area of nearly 600000 square meters, a total value of 330 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment, and more than 6 million copies of various paper and electronic documents. There are nearly 1500 in-service teaching staff, 1058 full-time teachers, more than 30000 students of all kinds, including nearly 20000 school-based junior college students and more than 1000 doctoral, master's and international students.
