Xinyang Normal University, short for Xinyang Normal University, is located in Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is the first undergraduate university founded in Henan Province after China's reform and opening up. It is one of the two key undergraduate normal universities in Henan Province.Xinyang Normal University was founded in 1975, formerly known as Xinyang branch of Kaifeng Normal University (now Henan University). In 1978, it was approved by the State Council as an undergraduate institution and changed to its current name. It was praised as "the cradle of teachers" by Fei Xiaotong, former vice chairman of the standing Committee of the National People's Congress, a famous social activist and educator. In 2007, the University was rated as excellent in the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education Show school.As of February 2020, the school covers an area of 3422.58 mu, with a total construction area of more than 810800 square meters.
