Selected into the national "2011 plan", the national construction of high-level university public postgraduate project, the national "characteristic key discipline project", the central and Western Universities' basic ability construction project, the excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan, and the National Model University of deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.The school originated from Henan University founded in 1902, and has gone through the stages of Henan University, Henan University, Henan public agricultural special school, national Fifth Sun Yat sen University, Henan University Agricultural College, etc. In 1952, when the national colleges and departments were adjusted, they were re established independently and renamed Henan Agricultural University. In December 1984, it was renamed Henan Agricultural University. In September 2009, it became the first Provincial Agricultural University jointly built by the Ministry of agriculture and the local provincial government. In November 2012, it became a University jointly built by the State Forestry Administration and the provincial government. In May 2013, Henan grain crop Collaborative Innovation Center led by the school was selected into the first batch of "2011 plan" of China.As of May 1, 2019, the university has three campuses, Wenhua Road, Longzihu and Xuchang New District, covering an area of 2.8135 million square meters; it has 20 colleges, including agriculture, engineering, science, economics, management, law, culture, medicine, education and art; it has seven international and national research platforms, 70 provincial and ministerial research platforms; it has one first-class discipline, four national key disciplines There are 19 provincial and ministerial key disciplines, 7 post doctoral research stations, 9 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 18 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 9 master's degree categories and 76 undergraduate majors in Henan Province.
