Zhongyuan Institute of technology, formerly known as Zhengzhou Institute of textile technology, is a high-level characteristic backbone university with distinctive characteristics of textile and garment and aviation technology, and coordinated development of engineering, management, arts, science, economics, law, philosophy, history, art and other disciplines. It is a general undergraduate college for national enrollment, the second batch of national demonstration colleges for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, a member of China Russia Jiaotong University Alliance, and the president unit of Henan University Transportation Education Alliance.The school was founded in 1955, formerly known as Yuci textile machinery industry school; in 1957, it moved to Zhengzhou City, renamed Zhengzhou Textile machinery manufacturing school; since then, it has experienced the stages of Henan Textile Machinery College, Zhengzhou Textile Machinery College, Zhengzhou Textile machinery school, Zhengzhou Textile machinery accessories factory, Zhengzhou Textile Machinery College, etc. In 1987, it was upgraded to a bachelor's degree and named Zhengzhou Institute of textile technology under the Ministry of textile industry of the people's Republic of China; in 1998, it was transferred to Henan Province for management; in 2000, it was renamed Zhongyuan Institute of technology.The school is divided into three teaching areas: Longhu campus, Zhongyuan campus and west campus, covering an area of 1610 mu. At present, there are more than 24000 full-time college students, undergraduates, postgraduates and international students, and more than 2200 part-time adult education students. The building area of the school is 847600 square meters, the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 607 million yuan, and there are 4.4642 million books in total, including 1.54 million paper books and 2.9242 million e-books.
