Qingdao University of science and technology Technology) is located in Qingdao, Shandong Province. It is a key university directly under the former Ministry of chemical industry. It has been selected into the "111 plan" of the state, and the "action plan for collaborative education of science and education" of the Ministry of education and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is one of the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan" and "new engineering research and practice project" of the state. It is the first university in China to set up rubber specialty , Asia's only university in the field of rubber. Once subordinate to the Ministry of light industry and the Ministry of chemical industry, it is a key construction university in Shandong Province and a famous university with applied basic talents training characteristics in Shandong Province. It is evaluated as "excellent university in undergraduate teaching level evaluation" and "university with typical employment experience of National Graduates" by the Ministry of education. It is praised as "Huangpu of China's rubber industry" by the society and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance Member units.The predecessor of the school is Shenyang light industry senior vocational school, which was founded in 1950 and moved to Qingdao in 1956. In 1958, approved by the people's Government of Shandong Province, it was established as Shandong Institute of chemical technology, which started the process of officially holding higher education. In 1984, it was renamed Qingdao Institute of chemical technology with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 1998, it was transferred from the Ministry of chemical industry to Shandong Province. In 2001, Qingdao school of Arts and crafts was merged into the University. In 2002, it was renamed Qingdao University of science and technology with the approval of the Ministry of education. Gaomi campus of Qingdao University of science and technology was put into use in 2009, and Shandong Institute of chemical industry was incorporated in 2016.According to the official website of the school in January 2020, the school has formed a school running pattern of "three places and five campuses" in Qingdao, Gaomi and Jinan, with a school building area of 920000 square meters, a library collection of more than 3 million books of various kinds of literature, and a total fixed assets value of 2.9 billion yuan. There are more than 2600 faculty members, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Chemistry, materials science, engineering and other three disciplines have entered the top 1% of the global ESI disciplines.
