Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute is located in Jingdezhen, the capital of porcelain for thousands of years. It is the only multi-disciplinary university with ceramic characteristics in China. Once under the former Ministry of light industry, in 1998, it was jointly built by the central and local governments, mainly under the management of Jiangxi Province. It is one of the 29 independent undergraduate art colleges, one of the first batch of universities in China to independently recruit art undergraduates, and one of the universities that are qualified to enroll international students with master's and bachelor's degrees under the Chinese government scholarship. It is also a national model university for deepening innovation and Entrepreneurship Education reform.The school was formerly known as China Ceramics school founded in 1910, and Jingdezhen ceramics college established in 1958. In 1984, the University became a master's degree granting unit. In July 2013, it was added as a doctoral degree awarding unit by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. In March 2016, it was renamed Jingdezhen Ceramic University.As of June 2020, the university has three campuses, Xianghu, Xinchang and Institute of ceramics, covering an area of more than 2000 mu. It has 11 teaching colleges (departments and departments), 57 undergraduate majors, 3 first-class discipline doctoral programs, 15 first-class discipline master programs and 6 Professional Degree Master programs. It has 780 professional teachers, more than 20000 full-time students (including independent colleges), including 1321 graduate students (Doctoral Program) There are 78 students and nearly 100 international students.
