Wuyi University, or "Wuyi University" for short, is located in the green hinterland of the Economic Zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait and in Wuyishan, the "world cultural and natural heritage site". It is a public full-time regular undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education on March 19, 2007, and the second batch of national demonstration colleges for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.The predecessor of the school is Nanping normal college, which was founded on August 12, 1958. In January 1962, Fuzhou normal college was merged into Nanping normal college and renamed as Nanping Normal College (undergraduate). It was closed during the cultural revolution and resumed in 1978 with the approval of the State Council.
