Anhui University of Finance and economics is referred to as "Ancai". It is a multi-disciplinary university of Finance and economics focusing on economics, management and law. The school was founded in May 1959 in Hefei, Anhui Province, when it was called Anhui University of Finance and trade. It was moved to Bengbu City, Anhui Province in 1961. School has been affiliated to the all China Federation of supply and marketing cooperation, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of domestic trade. In February 2000, the State Council decided that Anhui University of Finance and trade should be jointly built by the central and local governments, with the administration of Anhui provincial government as the main body. In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of education, the University changed its name to Anhui University of Finance and economics.Anhui University of Finance and economics is one of the first batch of universities with the right to confer bachelor's degree and the third batch of universities with the right to confer master's degree in China. It is a key university in Anhui Province and a University jointly built by the people's Government of Anhui Province and the all China Federation of supply and marketing cooperation. In 2012, it was approved as the national Midwest university basic capacity construction project, and in 2014, it was selected as the "high level university construction project with local characteristics" in the higher education revitalization plan of Anhui Province.As of December 2018, the school has three campuses: Jiaotong Road Campus, Longhu West Campus and Longhu east campus, covering a total area of 983450 square meters, with a book collection of 3.2952 million volumes, 16000 online electronic journals, 1398 in-service staff, including 1080 full-time teachers, 21099 ordinary undergraduate students and 1884 master's degree students; it has 12 colleges, 1 teaching department and 67 undergraduate majors , 2 second bachelor's degree programs.
