Nanjing University of Finance & economics is a key construction university in Jiangsu Province, which is supported by economics, management, law, engineering, literature, science and other disciplines and develops coordinately. In 2017, the University became a provincial doctoral project construction unit in Jiangsu Province.The predecessor of Nanjing University of Finance and economics is the Nanjing grain School of the Ministry of grain, which was established in 1956. It was upgraded to Nanjing grain Economics College in 1981 and renamed Nanjing Economics College in 1993. In 1999, Nanjing materials school was incorporated into Nanjing Institute of economics. In 2000, Jiangsu College of Finance and economics and Jiangsu Institute of economic management were merged into the University. In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Nanjing University of economics was officially renamed Nanjing University of Finance and economics. In 2011, Jiangsu Provincial People's government signed a contract with the State Food Administration to jointly build Nanjing University of Finance and economics.The school has three campuses, Xianlin, Fujian Road and Qiaotou, covering an area of 3005 mu, with a building area of more than 950000 square meters. It has 18 teaching colleges (departments), 1 private undergraduate college, 1 postdoctoral mobile station of Applied Economics, 1 doctoral talent training project of "modern grain circulation industry development and policy", 12 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 1 master's degree At present, there are 15922 undergraduate students, 2279 full-time graduate students, 15 doctoral students and 1103 full-time teachers.
