Harbin Commercial University, founded in 1952, is the first multidisciplinary Commercial University in China. With the approval of the Ministry of education, it started undergraduate education in 1958 and postgraduate education in 1982. It is one of the ten key universities in Heilongjiang Province. It is also a member of China Russia Economic University Alliance.As of January 2020, the school covers a total area of 1165500 square meters, and the total area of school buildings is 661800 square meters. There are 1460 teaching staff, including 1151 full-time teachers, 220 professors and 559 associate professors; 627 teachers with master's degree and 533 teachers with doctor's degree; 442 graduate tutors, including 85 doctoral tutors. It has 22 colleges, 2 research institutes of Business Economics and business engineering, and 65 undergraduate majors covering eight disciplines, including economics, management, engineering, law, arts, science, medicine and art.
