Changchun University, located in Changchun City, is a provincial full-time comprehensive university in Jilin Province. It is one of the first batch of institutions of higher learning approved by the Ministry of education to accept foreign students and a national model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.Its predecessor was Changchun Industrial Accounting and statistics school founded by the Ministry of industry of the former Northeast People's Government in 1949. After many changes of name, it was renamed Jilin mechanical and electrical college in 1983. In 1987, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, the former Jilin mechanical and electrical college, Jilin University of science and technology, Changchun foreign language college and Changchun Vocational University merged to form Changchun University.As of May 2018, the university has three campuses, covering a total area of 1.02 million square meters; the total value of fixed assets is 671 million yuan; the library has a paper collection of 1.607971 million books and an electronic collection of 848396 kinds of books; it has 19 teaching departments, 55 undergraduate majors, 6 Master's degree authorized first-class subjects and 9 master's degree authorized points; it has 831 full-time teachers and 16089 full-time students People.
