Beihua University, referred to as Beihua University, is a full-time ordinary university established by the people's Government of Jilin Province. Located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, Beihua University is a provincial comprehensive key university and a provincial doctoral project construction unit. The university is one of the first batch of "excellent doctor education and training plan" and "excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan" Reform Pilot Universities in China National College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program implementation institutions, National College Students' cultural quality education base, the first batch of national college practice education innovation and entrepreneurship base, Ministry of education to study in China demonstration base construction universities, Chinese government scholarship to receive foreign students in China, the first batch of member universities of Sino Russian Medical University Alliance, CDIO Engineering Education Alliance member units, Jilin Provincial People's government The government and the State Forestry Administration jointly build universities. Beihua University is the only university in Jilin Province to hold forestry, forestry engineering and other forest related disciplines. More than 60% of forestry technology and management backbone in Jilin Province graduated from Beihua University.Approved by the Ministry of education in 1999, Jilin Normal University, Jilin Medical College, Jilin Forestry College and Jilin electrification college were merged and established. In December 2012, the University was approved as the pilot University of excellent doctor education and training plan. In October 2014, the University was approved as the pilot University of excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan.As of December 2019, the university has three campuses (East, South and North) and an affiliated hospital, covering an area of 2.93 million square meters (including the teaching and experimental base), a building area of 728800 square meters, a total value of teaching and scientific research equipment of 470 million yuan, and a collection of 3.627 million books. It has 24 colleges and an engineering training center. There are 16 first level disciplines authorized by master's degree and 7 second level disciplines authorized by master's degree. There are 2510 teaching staff and 26926 full-time students, including 2010 Master's degree students, 24196 undergraduate students and 612 international students.
