It was changed to Heilongjiang Agricultural College in 1950 and renamed Bei'an agricultural college with the approval of the State Council in 1956, starting undergraduate education. In April 1958, Bei'an Agricultural College merged with Changchun animal husbandry and veterinary University and the Preparatory Office of Changchun Agricultural College to establish Changchun Agricultural College. Premier Zhou Enlai personally wrote the name of the college. In March 1959, Changchun Agricultural mechanization college was merged into Changchun Agricultural College.
