Hulunbuir University, located in the east of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is the only full-time comprehensive university in Hulunbuir city. It is listed as a pilot University for transformation and development by the Department of education, the national development and Reform Commission and the Department of finance of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has been selected as one of the first batch of new engineering research and practice projects of the Ministry of education.Hulunbuir University was founded in 1958. In 1959, Hulunbuir normal college was merged with the "teacher's class" temporarily located in Zhalantun normal school to establish Hulunbuir normal college. In 1962, it was demobilized, and in 1977, it resumed the enrollment of junior college students. In 1992, Hulunbuir League administrative office decided to merge Hailar normal college, Hulunbuir League education college, Hulunbuir League Management College and Hulunbuir League branch of Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University to establish Hulunbuir University; in 1997, the former State Education Commission approved the merger of the four colleges to establish Hulunbuir college at the junior college level. In 2000, Hulunbuir League business school, Hulunbuir League urban construction workers secondary school and Hailar Mongolian normal school were merged; in 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of education, they were promoted to undergraduate colleges and universities in the same year; Inner Mongolia engineering and technology school was merged.As of January 2020, the university has two campuses, covering an area of 1016900 square meters, a building area of 329100 square meters, teaching and administrative rooms of 183200 square meters, fixed assets of more than 1 billion yuan, a collection of 1092100 paper books, 1.407000 e-books, 14 databases, teaching and scientific research equipment of 150.2417 million yuan, and 1361700 students Among them, there are 12080 undergraduates, 118 minority preparatory students, 1045 junior college students, 59 international students and 1954 adult education students. At present, the school has 1216 teaching staff, including 737 full-time teachers and 67 external teachers. It has 23 colleges, 16 party and government institutions, 3 teaching auxiliary institutions, 54 undergraduate majors and 16 junior college majors.
