Inner Mongolia University of Finance and economics, located in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a full-time ordinary university sponsored by the people's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has been selected into China's "one hundred schools project" industry education integration innovation pilot cooperation college project and "double ten thousand plan".The University was founded in 1960 and named Inner Mongolia College of Finance and economics; it was rebuilt as Inner Mongolia College of Finance and trade cadres in 1962 and Inner Mongolia College of Finance and trade in 1965; undergraduate enrollment was resumed in 1979 and Inner Mongolia College of Finance and economics was rebuilt with the approval of the State Council in 1980; in 2000, the University merged with Inner Mongolia College of economic management cadres to establish a new Inner Mongolia College of Finance and economics; in 2005, it obtained a master's degree In 2006, Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Finance and taxation and Inner Mongolia School of industry and commerce administration were merged into the college; in 2012, with the approval of the Ministry of education, the college was renamed Inner Mongolia University of Finance and economics.According to the official website of the University in December 2019, the University covers a total area of 1.35 million square meters, with a building area of 570000 square meters, 18 colleges and 56 undergraduate majors, 988 full-time teachers and more than 21700 students in general higher education.
