Jinzhong University, located in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, is a full-time college sponsored by the people's Government of Shanxi Province.The predecessor of Jinzhong University is Jinzhong normal college, which was founded in 1958. In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Jinzhong normal college, Jinzhong Institute of education and Jinzhong staff University were merged to establish a provincial full-time undergraduate college in Shanxi Province.According to the official website of the school in April 2020, the school covers an area of 824700 square meters, with a building area of 516600 square meters. It has 16 teaching colleges, 53 undergraduate majors, more than 1000 in-service teaching staff, more than 700 full-time teachers, more than 18000 full-time undergraduate students, more than 2000 adult education students, and a collection of 1.02 million books and 1322 paper periodicals.
